Service List

Our Services

Middle school aged youth explore their community, identifying strengths and areas of need.  The group identifies projects in the community that they would like to undertake and, with the help of staff and community people, plan and implement the projects.  Young people learn to take charge of their activities, and have fun together in a safe, structured situation. Young people learn that service is a two-way street.  Through helping to meet a particular need, they gain new skills, knowledge and friends in the process.  They learn that working together toward common goals builds community.  Community service activities combine fun, fresh activities that cultivate a sense of competence and pride in the youth that take part in the program.

Employment Preparation Services

All Learning Web activities build skills that help youth progress on their vocational journey and amass the skills needed to successfully reach their goals.  From the 6th grader who learns how to be a great team member as she helps distribute food at a local food bank to the 10th grader who masters a new lab technique in the particle physics department at Cornell, participants learn about the work world.  Exploration visits, apprenticeship, and service activities provide information, connections, and a hands-on opportunity for youth to develop a work ethic, discover their passions, and try out adult roles in a supportive arena.  Emphasis on employment preparation is age appropriate with younger youth developing awareness of possibilities and interests and older youth mastering job seeking and keeping skills.
