Our Volunteer Service projects provide youth with meaningful opportunities for service while exploring their communities.  Through exploration,  service learning projects, and critical reflection activities youth gain group decision-making and teamwork skills as they implement projects.  Service activities play a significant role in developing not only pre-employment skills but healthy personal development in the youth we serve.

Volunteerism plays an important role in our culture.  This willingness to become involved and assume an active responsibility for the general quality of life is uniquely American.  Active participation combined with critical reflection is a powerful learning tool to cultivate and develop the “habits of the heart” upon which democracy so depends.

“I learned that no matter who you are, you can still help.  No one person is better than another.”

Sorting, folding, and packing hundreds of articles of women’s clothing for distribution at local charities took our young volunteers hours of time.

“I learned about myself, the service group, helping others made me feel very good about myself.”
